I held him a little longer

They say that I have spoiled him, maybe held on too tight. 

At times I let him sleep on my chest instead of his crib at night. 

You see, I only held you for one day. Why can't they understand? 

I held him a little longer, just because I can.

I never got to hear your cries or hold you on my breast. 

I spent a wonderful day with you, and I am missing all the rest. 

These precious times with your brother will only last so long. 

I will hold him a little longer. Does that make it wrong? 

I miss you so much that it makes my heart ache. I will hold him a little longer to make sure it doesn't break. 

My world came to an end when you were taken on that day. It became a little brighter when he was here to stay. I only had one day with you, and his snuggling days won't last. 

Let me hold him a little longer before those days have passed. 

If I could only have both boys to hold today and every day, I'd hold you both a little longer and that is how we'd stay.
